The exam consists of three parts aiming to test both comprehension and production of language. In the segment focused on comprehension, the participants will be asked to read a set of texts and answer questions ranging in form from multiple choice questions to tasks in which students will be asked to complete a gapped text or make inferences based on the text. Participants’ productive skills will be assessed through a writing task, requiring them to write a composition on one of the topics offered. The composition will be graded in terms of content as well as linguistic accuracy (grammar, spelling and punctuation). The final part of the exam entails a series of tasks that test proper usage of English grammar and vocabulary. The exam is time limited, with each of the tasks lasting for an hour. The participants will not be able to use dictionaries or mobile phones.
